Originally established as an imprint of Island Records in 1984, 4th & Broadway was named after Island’s former location in New York’s East Village neighborhood, and home to the legendary Tower Records. 4th & Broadway was known for ground-breaking hip-hop and dance artists who shaped the culture of music including Eric B. & Rakim (the 1987 classic “Paid in Full”), Dream Warriors, Stereo MCs, Bomb the Bass, Sly & Robbie and N.W.A. The iconic label was relaunched in November 2020 and formed a strategic alliance with Island and Republic Records. The label is now aligned with Def Jam as of February 2022. 4th & Broadway is home to influential and creative artists such as Young Devyn, Chiiild, Kidd Kenn, Pap Chanel, Lil Migo and many more.
